Unit and Currency Converter for iPhone

About

I'm coming from MS world, and actually my iPhone was the first Mac I ever touched. This toy was so cool that I just had to learn how to play with it. Zero Objective-C knowledge and lack of official SDK didn't stop me from trying, and after a few sleepless nights I've created my first iPhone application (well, without counting HelloWorld). I hope you'll find it useful :)

Donations

I'm developing this application during my (very limited) spare time: I have a family and a day job. If you like the application (and have some spare money) please donate by clicking the above button.

Installation

Now the application is hosted on ModMyiFone.com community source (Utilities -> Converter). You should have this source by default, but here it is just in case: http://www.modmyifone.com/installer.xml

Updates

25 March (0.22 release)

1. New measurements: Acceleration, Angle, Prefixes, Luminance, Data Transfer, Force.

2. Measurements order is now editable: Just like units order in Advanced mode.

3. Ruler: Big thanks to Billy Chasen!

4. New currency rates provider: Data provided by http://www.iccfx.com. Huge thanks to Frederic!

5. Shake to refresh currency rates: No need to go to Settings screen, just shake your iPhone!

6. New languages

- Polish by Piotr Biegala and Tomasz Szeweluk

- Dutch by Herbert Kats

- Portuguese by Helvécio

- Traditional Chinese by Jerry

7. Scientific notation support: No more "<ε" results!

8. Standard localization support: Now I'm using Mac's standard localization technique (.lproj folder for each language). BTW as a side effect, you'll need to restart the application after changing the language.

08 Feb(0.20 release)

As always, before I update the Installer - let me know if there're any problems...

- It's not a major release in any way: main focus was on translations and small fixes here and there.

- A lot of people have contributed their hard work by translating the app. Thanks so much for that!

Catalan by Joan Carles "Vei" Tasies

French by Khelen

German by Christian Arnold aka meilon

Italian by biempi

Latvian by cosmoLV

Russian by me :)

Swedish by Henrik Jönsson

- I've reorganized the "Clothing" category, and now it contains more units.

31 Jan(0.19 release)

Before I update the Installer - let me know if there're any problems...

- Now storing "recently used" units. So it's much easier to work with long lists (like currencies). Currently the value is hardcoded (but will be configurable in the future versions).

- Localization support. Now the application can be easily translated (I've started with Russian and Hebrew).

- Numerous ui enhancements and bug fixes.

- For those upgrading to 1.1.3 - the application seems to work just fine.
